A bright Golden day dawned on the Community of Maria Sharan Keshnand on 5th of August 2020, the celebration of the Golden Jubilee of Sr. Teresa Castellino. The Morning Prayer highlighted the qualities of Sr. Teresa, and the hard work she put in, during her tenure as Provincial of M.M. Mumbai. After our prayers, the children of this Centre wished Sr. Teresa by singing a Congratulations song, and by offering her a beautiful hand- crafted card done by themselves.
At 11.00 am we had a solemn Eucharistic Celebration, presided over by Fr. Michael Fernandes S.D.B and Fr. Cletus D’Souza S.D.B. The liturgy was highlighted with beautiful singing. Fr. Michael gave us an apt sermon, by highlighting Sr. Teresa’s capacities, and the work that she had done. Sr. Teresa also gave thanks to God by singing her praises with a thanksgiving song.
We then escorted Sr. Teresa to the hall with flowers and music. This was followed by a short programme, felicitating the Jubilarian. Sr.Santana Pereira, welcomed everyone. The children of our centre welcomed everyone also with a welcome song, followed by a prayer dance. There was great rejoicing throughout this event. Sr. Santana Pereira requested Fr. Cletus D’Souza to raise the toast when he highlighted Sr. Teresa qualities, her motherly affection and the hard work she had done during the past fifty years. Sr. Teresa Castellino then cut the cake, to the strains of Congratulations. She then shared the beautiful life story of some of her milestones. . The Grace before meals was prayed by Fr. Michael Fernandes. With delicious food, we enjoyed each other’s company. We thank the communities of Koregaon Park and Mundhwa for giving us a helping hand to make the day a memorable one for Sr. Teresa. We also thank her friends for their presence. The day ended on a beautiful note.
