26 September 2020 was a day of great joy to the see many of the Sisters and past pupils of Maria Vihar Hostel joining the virtual meet. The programme began at 4.00 pm with an inaugural prayer by Sr. Nilima Rodrigues followed by warm welcome by Sr. Philomena D’Souza, the present animator of the community. The girls were thrilled as they went through the “Then & Now” flash back moments that were presented through short video by the present Warden Sr. Reshma Nune. The different games by animated online by Sr. Nilima and Kirti Mankar our past pupil. Miss Priyanka Lunawat (2005-08) and Miss Vibha Chauhan (2009-2010) shared their experiences… Tears of Joy rolled down as they relived their moments while Miss Sakshi Patil sang with her melodious voice “Ye Pal Hum Yaad Ayenge”.
As per our tradition Sr. Rita Lobo gave them a “Good night” with a beautiful message for life. The main organizers of this meet were the most dynamic past pupils of Maria Vihar Youth Centre viz. Miss Reshma Mutha and Miss Kriti Mankar along with the Sisters. Apart from the present Sisters of Maria Vihar, the girls were excited and thrilled as they identified various familiar faces of Sisters of yesteryears – Sr. Perpetual Ferrao, Sr. Anita Dushing, Sr. Valerie Rodrigues (from Rome), Sr. Rita Lobo and Sr. Nilima, each of who evoked sighs of Ahs… Ohhhs… from the girls.
As many of them wanted to revisit Maria Vihar Sr. Philomena offered them the possibility of returning to Maria Vihar for a sleepover. The memorable day was clinched by Vote of thanks by Sr. Jesmine Fernandes. With nostalgic memories, the meeting ended at 6.30 pm with a promise to make it more a regular feature.
