AMAR # 1322 Gratitude day celebration at Auxilium Ahmednagar.

Gratitude is an attitude best cherished by people who have a sense of belonging to society and believe that what has been showered upon them as a blessing must be returned with gratitude.

This was proved by Auxilium Convent High School and Junior College Ahmednagar, teachers who got together to thank the Salesian Sisters.

The Gratitude day celebration was clubbed together with the feast of St. Laura Vicuna. The earlier day the feast was celebrated online by showing them the movie about the life and sacrifice of Bl. Laura and a song. The students were asked about what they had comprehended from the movie and their opinions were asked.

On 22nd January 2021, Gratitude day was celebrated in L.V. Niwas. All teachers got together and planned out the programme meticulously. Invitation cards were given the earlier day personally to each and every Sister along with the prayer cards.

On that day Sisters were escorted by teachers to the rhythm of music, lovely brooches were attached to the religious habit and the programme commenced.

A meaningful prayer service was followed by felicitations and gifts. A lovely ‘Hum ha’ song was sung which had the Sisters tapping their feet. Teachers from each section gave speeches that touched the hearts and the cherry on the cake was words of gratitude by students and parents which had been compiled together by teachers.

A thank you song was sung and a beautiful ‘Thank you’ card with a meaningful poem was presented to the Sisters. Sr. Rita Lobo, the animator spoke eloquently about the celebration. The best part that she mentioned was that besides quantity Auxilium, Ahmednagar had a quality education. The celebration concluded with a prayer and cutting of the cake.
