“You are the light of the World” the theme chosen for the Children’s day on 14th November, 2021. Around 300 faces bubbling with joy and happiness participated in the day’s celebration. During the morning hours children were occupied with various games and then at 12.00 in the afternoon the inaugural function began by welcoming the Guests for the day- Chief guest Dr. Mrs. Anjali Mascarenhas, Principal of Degree College, Rev. Fr. Vijay Kumar, the parish priest of Dahanu, Sr.Clare Terese, the Superior of Missionaries of Charity, Sarpanch of Dahanu Panchayat and Sr. Mariet Lukose, the animator of AYAC Dahanu. Each one was presented with a sapling. The lamp was lit and the Holy Trinity was invoked. The chief guest spoke saying “Honour, respect -others, the nature and oneself which will bring success”.
After lunch a cultural programme was staged by the children. Prizes were distributed for the winners of the various games. A health camp was organized. At 5.00 p.m each child was presented a small bag with study material and with the snacks. They returned home with the same joy and happiness that they entered.
“Children are the best creation of God, they spread joy in every season”, which we experienced strongly on their special day and we continue to feel and experience the same as we meet them everyday.
