AWARENESS ON TRAFFICKING - AUXILIUM OROS

Today, Oros community College Girls had a session on awareness of trafficking. Given by Sr Phileshin D'Souza a Social worker belonging to the Congregation of the Holy Family of Nazareth.

Human trafficking is a serious violation of human rights that affects millions of people worldwide. It involves the illegal recruitment, transportation, or exploitation of people through force, deception, or coercion. Victims are often forced into labour, domestic work, begging, criminal activities, or sexual exploitation.

To create awareness, a trafficking awareness programme was organised to educate participants about the dangers, warning signs, and ways to prevent trafficking. The resource person explained how traffickers target vulnerable people by making false promises of jobs, education, or a better life. Participants were encouraged to verify job offers, stay connected with their families, and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.

The programme concluded with an appeal for everyone to remain alert, support victims with compassion, and work together to build a society free from human trafficking.
