Auxilium schools across Goa and Maharashtra have launched a powerful campaign to combat plastic pollution, inspired by sessions led by Sr. Betty Menezes. The initiative, sparked by the urgent message that our planet can't handle the plastic we produce, has transformed classrooms into hubs of environmental action. Students and staff are now actively involved in a profound commitment to environmental stewardship, proving that education extends beyond textbooks and into practical, impactful actions.

The campaign is a tangible movement toward a circular economy. Students are actively collecting plastic waste from their homes and neighbourhoods, extending their impact into the wider community. This collected plastic is then sent to recycling industries, where it's transformed into useful products like benches, T-shirts, and pens. This hands-on experience reinforces the value of recycling and shows students the direct impact of their efforts. Partner NGOs have provided crucial support, turning this into a community-wide effort.

On 5th June as the world celebrated World Environment Day, with its focus on beating plastic pollution, Auxilium schools are leading the way by setting an ambitious goal: to become zero-waste management institutions. This commitment reflects a deep belief in living environmental science, not just learning about it. The dedication of everyone involved serves as a beacon of hope, showing that with passion and collaboration, a sustainable future is an achievable reality.
