AMAR # 342 Republic Day in Pali

The 68th Republic Day celebration at Auxilium Pali Hill, Bandra began with the hoisting of the National Flag by our Chief Guest Mr. Anil Joseph. Don Bosco was a man for others and friend of poor youth. He had a “Heart as large as the sand on the sea shore.” He undertook all his works with a single aim “To save souls”. With deep sentiments of gratitude in our hearts on 22nd of January we celebrated the feast of St. John Bosco our Father and Founder.

The Parish clergy, neighbouring religious communities, co-operators, parents and the family members of our sisters who have joined from Madanthyar parish and the few lay collaborators responded to our invitation.

In the evening at 7.00p.m Our Parish priest Rev. Fr. Basil Vas celebrated the thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration together with other six religious concelebrants. Liturgy was well animated and the symbolic offerings were offered during the prayer of the faithful. He preached an effective homily on Don Bosco. He said that Don Bosco loved the youth very much and he dedicated himself in service of young people especially the poor and the abandoned. He loved them, educated them trained them by teaching different trades, guided them to have a bright future.

He also appreciated our service in the parish and for taking care of the young girls in our centre. After the Eucharistic celebration the animator Sr. Caroline Menezes thanked everyone for their presence and participation, and invited everyone to join in Agape.

 

AMAR # 340 SJTC'S Preparation for the feast of Don Bosco

  To prepare the feast of Don Bosco, a picture of him was put up on the Notice Board with a striking caption “Because of him …”. With children surrounding the picture they were saying ‘’I can, I dream, I love, I must etc. There were 12 such sayings and each candidate had to choose one she liked best. The goodnight was given by the candidate who chose the slogan

AMAR # 339  SJTC celebrates UNITY OCTAVE WITH A DIFFERENCE

The Sisters and Candidates in SJTC, Lonavla celebrated a ‘Week of Prayer for Unity 2018’ from 18 to 25 January 2018. Theme: “Father, may they all be one” Jn.17:10 Besides traditional prayers for unity among all the denominations of Christians, we prayed specially for unity among all Indian citizens of different faiths and cultures. The feast of Bl. Laura Vicuna was meaningfully celebrated in Pushpanjali Dakor. Laura Vicuna is a model for young people in this modern world. We prepared our boarding girls spiritually to celebrate the feast of Bl. Laura Vicuna.
