On the first World Day of Grandparents and the Elderly pronounced by Pope Francis, the students, locked up in the confines of their homes, in the midst of this pandemic, were encouraged to make their Grandparents feel special in their own creative way. On 26th July the students of Auxilium Community College, Ahmednagar celebrated Grandparents’ Day in honour of Sts. Joachim and Anne. The online celebration began with a short prayer moment. The students thanked their grandparents through song, dance, recitation of poems, speeches and offered them saplings, gifts and bouquets. It was a beautiful celebration. The grandparents were happy and thrilled. It was indeed a rare and a meaningful initiative.
On 26th July, we the Ashish Bhavan community along with our boarders celebrated the Grandparents day with the widows from the Kune village. Nearly 10 of them were present. The day began with short prayer and cultural programme which brought smile on their faces.
