Constitution Day was observed on 26th November.  In the year 1949, the newly framed constitution was adopted after three years of painstaking efforts on the part of Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Dr. B.R Ambedkar, and the constituent assembly. The word enshrined in the Indian constitution had been carefully and thoughtfully inserted to bring out the democratic nature of our newly formed nation. This great day can never be forgotten by any Indian.  In keeping with the significance of Constitution Day, our school observed the day in a short but meaningfully impressive way.

The USM students had prepared a beautiful moment of reflection guided as they were by Sr. Sheela Furtado, the Headmistress. The backdrop highlighted the essence of the values enshrined in our Constitution. India needs the prayers of children. Scriptures of different religions were read out the students presented a short skit depicting clearly the present plight of Mother India we are a nation torn apart by various divisive forces. A meaningful song was played, the words of which were very realistic and thought-provoking. Young Indians represented by a doctor, a scientist, a teacher, and other professionals took up the challenge held out to them. The role of the Mahatma was highlighted beaconing us to create a new India based on the values enshrined in our Constitution. The placards with challenging messages were displayed. To conclude, the students prayed for India through the song of blessings for our nation.
