On the first World Day of Grandparents and the Elderly pronounced by Pope Francis, the students, locked up in the confines of their homes, in the midst of this pandemic, were encouraged to make their Grandparents feel special in their own creative way. Their creative love took on various forms; poetry, cards, hugs, dances, songs, short speeches and the likes, making their elderly feel loved, appreciated and honoured. The students expressed to the elderly that their presence is valued and adds richness to their lives as individuals and as a family. Following such practices, the students will also learn to value the presence of the elderly in their homes, reminisce on the great role they play in their lives and learn to spontaneously appreciate the richness added by every other person in their life.
