AMAR # 1506 GARBA AT AUXILIUM BARODA

Gujarat and  Garba are pretty synonymous!! Garba , the ethnic traditional folk dance of Gujarat  literally runs in the blood of every Gujarati irrespective of religion or caste or creed. The beats, the costumes, the sound of claps, the rhythm, the verve…all is captivating.

Auxilium Convent High School, Vadodara, as always, celebrates every festival with much fervor.  The 9th of October 2021, witnessed one such event – the most awaited of the year – Navratri celebrations. Adorned in colourful, ethnic costumes- artistically designed and embroidered with bead and mirror work and glittering ornaments, the teaching and non-teaching staff grooved to popular garba songs.

The air was filled with excitement as the dancers moved in unison to the rhythmic beats creating a whirlwind of colour. Energy level soared as the teachers clapped and swayed, jumped and swirled around. At the end, prizes were awarded to those whose attire was ethnic and to those who didn’t leave the floor!

We thank Sr. Philomena Lobo our Principal for organizing this event.
