15th August was the great day for each of us as we the Pushpanjali community began our Marian month with our boarding children. 60 boarders together with we, the 6 sisters of the community were present for the prayer service, which was animated by Sr. Benzina Vayaghar. During the prayer moment Sr. Gracy Thomas, the Animator and 4 leaders of the 4 groups,Don Bosco, Mother Mazzarello, Laura Vicuna and Dominic Savio lighted the Lamp. Mother Mary’s virtues were highlighted on the screen. After the prayer, Sr. Gracy spoke to the children about Mother Mary. There were different Marian activities and the competitions held during the month such as drawing competition, singing, picture collage competition etc… Different competitions were judged by the different sisters of the community. Then we kept up the Marian nite on 18th September which was animated by Sr. Benzina and Tr. Venesa Khristi. There was a lot of joy on the faces of childrenandspecial love for Mother Mary. They took part in all the Marian games whole-heartedly and with great enthusiasm. Marian Nite began with the prayer moment. Sr. Gracy gladly declared the Marian Nite opened. The children were divided into their respective four groups and a sister in charge for each group. There were quiz competitionand other different games on the life of Mother Mary and added to that a few general knowledge questions on Mary. It was amusing to see their enthusiasm and love for our Blessed Mother while they were playing the games, and answering the quiz. We admired our boarding girls of other faiths who were so well updated with the knowledge on our Blessed Mother. Apt but simple prizes were distributed to each group. All of them were very happy and grateful for all that they received. It was a very good and enriching experience for each one of us.
Sr. Gracy gave them a beautiful message on how our Mother Mary takes each one of us into her arms like she took Baby Jesus into her arms and embraced, caresses us irrespective of our faiths. She loves everyone especially the ones who places his or her trust in Mother Mary.
