Mary was born a girl and was made the Mother of the Church. Where would we all have been without Mama Mary? Where we all would have been if, our mother wouldn’t have allowed us, to be born.
With great joy in our hearts, we celebrated this day, September 8th , the birth of mother Mary, and join the Church of India in celebrating Girl Child Day. To let this day be inspiring, to devise ways and means to appreciate and affirm every girl child in the home, the community, the different institutions, and the larger society, intentional prayer service was offered by the girls of Auxilium. The cake cutting followed this prayer service, collectively with the Animator Sr. Caroline Menezes, Principal Sr. Sheela Furtado, and all girls celebrating their birthday on this blessed day. The welcome song was sung by the tiny tots of pre-primary.
To grace this occasion, a thematic play was enacted by girls, incorporating all great women achievers from all fields, like Sudha Murthy, Savitribai Phule, Saint Mary Mazzarello, Sidhu Tai Sapkal, P.V Sindhu, Kalpana Chawla, and Anandibai. Later the celebration was concluded with the dedicated attitude of prayer, thanking Mother Mary for all her blessings and gifts received and for continuing to bless in the future as well.
