AMAR # 1742 - SALESIAN FAMILY CELEBRATES...........

It was on 8th January 2023, the feast of the Epiphany, that various members of the Salesian Family of the Province of Bombay made their way to celebrate the Salesian Family Day at Don Bosco – Kurla. It was an impressive celebration with over 220 participants including Salesians, FMA, S. Cooperators, Past Pupils, ADMA, SMI and parents of Salesians.

Fr. Diego Nunes, Delegate for the Salesian Family, thanked the various Groups for joining in this celebration. Each of the delegates and office bearers were felicitated with a cute memento.

Fr. Joe Braganza, local Delegate of Kurla Centre, together with his S. Cooperators, Community and youth, made it a very fruitful and memorable   day with excellent planning. He presented Strenna 2023 With Fresh Eyes making the theme, AS THE YEAST IN TODAY’S HUMAN FAMILY: The Lay Dimension in the Family of Don Bosco , relevant and more meaningful.

Fr. Provincial Savio Silveira, the Chief Guest at this annual occasion, spoke powerfully that “Family Spirit is our hallmark, something we need to work on, this must be our first priority”, adding further “Don Bosco wanted to create a family; our second priority: children and youngsters; we need to take care of them as an integral part of our Salesian Family, not as beneficiaries”.

Every group of the Salesian family presented a brief report of their activities.

The solemn Eucharist, con-celebrated by 24 priests, was very well-animated, and made lively by a superb choir of DB Kurla youth.  The Salesian Past Pupils kept us in good cheer with creative Housie and movie charade games. The enjoyable day concluded with a hearty lunch.
