AMAR # 315 Christmas celebration at Mundhwa

By Sr. Sandra Fernandes

On December 20th 2017, the Eusebia Pre-Primary School – Management, the Sisters, teacher and the Children celebrated the Christmas celebration. The Nursery children came well-dressed with the costumes of the Santa Clause, whereas the L.K.G & H.K.G class child came with formal dress code, among them few were shepherds, angels and animals.

The programme began at 10.30 am in the morning and most children were present for the celebration. Our manager Rev. Sr. Wilma De Souza and Sr. Meera Dias were warmly welcomed by the children. We had a short prayer moment to begin the Christmas celebration by singing the action song “God’s Love is so wonderful”. The lighted candle symbolized the presence of the newly born Baby Jesus giving us His Light to illumine darkness. Then we sang ‘this little guiding light of Mine I am going to shine…’ asking Baby Jesus to fill our Lives with His Light and Love.

As we concluded the prayer moment we thanked the Lord for His blessings upon our families and friends, our relations, teachers, well-wishers and all those we know by singing “Praise Him Praise Him … in the morning  …” After that we began with a dance “Charva He Nache Jumake” followed with a short scene on the Birth of Jesus by the L.K.G & H.K.G children concluding with the three Kings visit to the Baby Jesus. Lastly our nursery children danced on ‘Jingle Bells Jingle Bells…’ Our Manager Sr. Wilma spoke to the children and asked them who Baby Jesus is and what was so special in celebrating this day? The children were able to answer and say it is the Birthday of Baby Jesus.

After which the Santa Claus came in and the tiny tots were excited, and few cried with fear. The Santa distributed sugar candies for the kids and everyone enjoyed it. The Santa danced with the children and all were excited. The sisters distributed a gift and a sweet packet to each child. The kids were happy and joyful. They wished their teacher and sisters  ‘ Happy Christmas’ and left for home happily and joyfully.
