AMAR # 675 Five new Salesian Cooperators at Anmol, Koparkhairane

Salesian Family: a force in the world was the theme of the Salesian Family day held at St. Dominic Savio Church, Andheri, on 20, January 2019. It was a special day for all those present and especially for the nine Salesian Co-operators who made their promise.

Among these nine we had five candidates from Anmol Koparkhairane i.e. Mary Julius, Gracy Pereira, Helen Anthony, Eunice Rodrigues, and Amala Anthony.  These candidates had been preparing themselves for the past few years and have been eagerly waiting for this moment. The promise was taken at the solemn Eucharist and it was celebrated by the Provincial, Fr. Godfrey Dsouza, concelebrated by Fr. Diego Nunes the SDB delegate for the Salesian Family and Fr. Shekhar Das the local Delegate of the host Unit. There were around 180 people, including Salesian Cooperators, ADMA, and Past Pupils.

After the Eucharist Fr. Cleophas Braganza beautifully explained the Strenna: ‘Holiness for you too’, everyone was attentive and felt drawn to be holy. The Salesian Cooperators are indeed grateful to the many sisters who have prepared them during these past years, thanks to their zeal and interest. They are all set to work for the Church the Salesian family and the young.  Each of them had a song of thanksgiving on their lips and a sense of gratitude in their heart.  A sense of awe enveloped them as they enjoyed this beautiful ceremony.

We also thank Sr. Catherine Fernandes, the FMA provincial delegate for following us and guiding us from time to time to make this day a reality.
