On the 10th of March twenty five twenty-five accompanied by Srs. Priya Tauro, Melissa D’Souza, and Ira Viegas went on a ‘NO PLASTIC’ Cycle Rally. Sr. Caroline D’Souza and Tr. Guilhermina Vaz came by bike. Our Parish Priest Fr. Ciprian D’Silva was present as we began the rally. He spoke a few words of appreciation and encouragement and said a prayer of blessing.
The students had anti plastic slogans attached on their cycles. We set out to a village in Santa Cruz. On reaching there, the students split in groups of three. They then visited the families speaking about the harmful effects of plastic and encouraging the people to say NO to plastic. We offered each family a cloth bag stitched by a Salesian Cooperator. We also bought vegetables from the nearby fields and offered them to the families in the cloth bag. We then assembled on a nearby ground for some refreshments after which we returned home.
