“A candle consumes itself to light the way for others.” So too, teachers spend their whole life committed to make of the little ones entrusted to them good and honest citizens of the future. On the 6th of September 2019, the students of Mazzarello Kendra celebrated Teachers Day with much pomp and joy. Beginning with the traditional Indian welcome, and a meaningful prayer service, the teachers were made to realise the esteem with which their students regard them through a colourful display of songs, drama, and dance. The programme peak was the games, creatively organised for the teachers to revive in them their childhood playfulness yet creative tactics. The management then offered all the teachers a sumptuous meal and a token of appreciation. We honour our teachers, who remain in the shadow, allowing students to shine. They are formatters of the future. We, educators in the footsteps of our founders are called to become to the young in our care, instilling in them values for life.
