AMAR # 770 Aux-Caranzalem celebrates Women's Day

On the 11th of March 2019, Women’s Day was celebrated at Auxilium School, Caranzalem. The event started at 8.30 am in the school hall. There were 219 women in all, mothers of our students. The day began with a meaningful prayer dance and the lighting of the lamp by the Manager, the Headmistress, and the speaker for the day, a teacher, a parent, and a student.

Dr. Junsa Mudras, a social worker, active in the field of law was the main speaker for the day. She addressed the women on the powers they possess and the positive role they play in society. She encouraged them to give their best to build the future of the country. Sr. Melissa D’Souza then showed them a video clipping on how they have to attentive to crimes against the girl child and raise their voices in protest whenever needed. She then had some spot prizes for them.  We concluded our short celebration at 10 am with snacks, tea and a small gift. We also displayed second hand clothes which they could take away.
