Celebration of the 71st Independence Day!

The students of ‘The Music Club’ of Auxilium Wadala, along with Sr. Fides and Tr. Kalpana participated in the celebration of the 71st Independence Day at St. Stanislaus High School, Bandra. The other schools too were invited to be a part of the BIRD Association. There was a display of the Military Force in action on the school grounds. This was to recall the sacrifice and love of the Jawans for our Motherland India. In the auditorium of the school, they saw the officers of the Army, Navy and the Air Force present for the occasion. The Chief Guests for the auspicious day were the Major General of the Army Mr. Christopher Fernandes and his wife Mrs. Anita Fernandes. The programme commenced with bhajans like ‘Aise Prabhu mai tujhko khoj raha’ and ‘Mera jeevan badal gaya’. The costumes spelled out the diversity of faith and culture. This was followed by a prayer dance ‘Aradhna teri Aradhna ’performed by the boys. Later the musical band of St.Stanislaus played the songs, ‘Vande Mataram’, ‘We are the world’ and ‘I believe I can fly’. The St. Joseph’s High School – Bandra performed Bharatnatyam on the song ‘Ek tera naam hai Saanjha’. The Sikh Pite performed the March Past to the tune of ‘Saare Jahan Se Accha’. The Chief Guest shared the story of Captain Sajjad Ali Khan who died to save lives .The day was concluded with feelings of patriotism as all stood with heads high and sang the National Anthem.

  1. I feel proud happy that we are helping our young people to know the sacrifice our jawans and others do to keep the country safe.
