On Friday, the 8th of September, Pushpanjali, Dakor Friday celebrated the Girl Child day. Nearly 340 adolescent girls from 10 villages participated in this ‘Kishori mela’.  Sr. Sunita Shah brought 30 girls from Pansora. We were happy to have the TDO of the Thasara Taluka, Arjunsingh Kant news reporter, Kantilal Christian, Sr. Pratiksha, Miss. The programme began at 11.00 am with a meaningful prayer dance, a welcome dance and the felicitation of the guests with shawls and a tulsi plant. We invited the guests to give the message of the day. The competitions like mehendi, hair dressing and rangoli were creatively conducted by the Sisters. At 12.30 pm Sr. Pratiksha animated the main session of the day. It was ‘Education to love’.The girls were enriched by this session, which made them aware of their own dignity and each one should respect every child. A delicious lunch was served and all participated in the cultural programme as well as in the games. Sr. Elphina Rodrigues thanked all those who added joy and cheer in the lives of our girl children.
