In the family, Mother’s birthday is very dear to the children. For it reminds us of her tender motherly love, care and concern. In her we see the source of life. Our hearts are filled with joy to celebrate the birthday of our Blessed Mother Mary. We also celebrated the girl child day. In morning our school children had a rally in the village, they were heard shouting slogans,’Save the girl child’, ‘Educate them’ and ‘Stop child marriage’. 
The villagers stopped and heard the powerful message given by the little ones. At 11.00 am, we had Holy Eucharist in the school celebrated by Fr. Peter Rodrigues. He based his sermon on the important role of a mother and a girl in the family.Later in the evening we had around 55 girls in our campus. We began our programme with a prayer service and conducted a few games. Through action songs and video clippings helped the girls to be aware of their rights and how to defend themselves. 
There was a lot of interaction during this time and they wanted to know more. The ones who came first at our place were very much impressed. 
At the end of the day, we served them supper and each one received a gift which brought smiles on their faces and a great joy to us educators.
