(Sr. Susan Moraes) We were fortunate to participate in NAFMA EDUMEDYM 2014 Seminar, the first of its kind, where 48 FMAs from our six Indian Provinces met to work out a common vision and mission for Education, Media and Youth Ministry. It was held at Don Bosco Provincial House, Okhla – New Delhi from 27 – 31 January 2014.
The participants from our Province were Sr. Susan Moraes, Sr. Nora Barretto, Sr.Hilda Braganza, Sr. Celine Pinto, Sr.Roseline Pereira, Sr. Jacintha Pinto, Sr. Asha Linette D’Sa, Sr.Philomena Lobo and Sr. Antonita D’Souza.
The entire seminar was excellently organised by the three National Coordinators with Sr. Stella Davis Potteparambil, the National Coordinator for Education, shouldering the lion’s share of responsibility. The inaugural function left us spell-bound as we marveled at the entire programme so meticulously planned out and executed.
The liturgy for each day was creative and meaning. All the speakers were well- selected and competent as they animated the FMAs of the 6 FMAINDIA Provinces. We had much to learn, reflect and examine ourselves. Significant topics dealt with such, as re-reading the Preventive System in the Salesian Indian context, the Cyber Crime, Child Protection Policy 21st , Century Education – Challenges and possibilities, were all eye-openers to make our Education a more relevant learning experience.
31st January, feast of Don Bosco, was a free day for “Delhi darshan” We had the sight-seeing around the National Capital. The Delhi Darshan at the close of the Seminar was a welcome break and we marveled at the beauty and cultural heritage of Mother INDIA.
Above all, we truly enjoyed our togetherness as one big Salesian family, despite our inter-culturality. We returned to our Provinces greatly enhanced to do ever more, ever better.

Sr. Stella, PCI National Co-ordinator for Education, has indeed done a wonderful job in planning and organizing the NAFMA EDUMEDYM 2014 at New Delhi. We congratulate and appreciate her for this. May all our HMs and Province Co-ordinators of Education, Youth Ministry and Media, gradually implement in their ministries the learning experiences of this Seminar for an efficacious educative mission among our young people.
