(Sr. Valerie Pereira) An orientation programme was organised for the students of class  VIII and IX of St. Francis Xavier High School to imbibe in them the importance of Human Values and present to them the realities and dangers of Human trafficking. Sr. Nathal Rodrigues and Sr. Valerie Pereira along with Sr. Vinaya D’ Souza,  (Good Shepherd Sister) animated the sessions.  The students participated in it with keen interest and enthusiasm. The facilitator Sr. Nathal began the session with a prayer moment and enlightened the participants on the topic of Human Values. The students were divided into four groups to discuss the importance of having good values and how these values help them to grow in their family and the society.

The significance of the ‘Orange Day’ was explained to the students. The  orange ribbon and the leaflets were distributed to the students. The students were instructed to wear this ribbon on 25th of every month to mark this day. May all that we do help to end violence against women and girls. It was followed by action songs  like “God is Watching over you”, “God is listening” and “Duniya Gol banaya” animated by Sr. Valerie.

After which Sr. Vainaya  animated the session on Human Trafficking, with a power point presentation.

Being the Feast of Bl. Laura Vicuna, we took this opportunity to highlight our teenage saint.  The students thanked the sisters for conducting the programme with competence and proficiency. They also thanked Mrs. Mabel D’Costa, the Principal for organizing this orientation programme which has helped them to build their lives on solid convictions and values.
