VALUE EDUCATION WEEK

Pali 1

(Sr. Rita Macwan) Value Education Week was celebrated at Auxilium Pali from 8th January to 20th January.  Unlike every year this year we had a full Value Education Week in which to impart knowledge about our faith as well as instill in them the basic values of love, respect, service, compassion and so on.  Our students brought out these values well in their animation during assembly.  Each class was given different themes for the day for which they performed skits, had a short prayer service concluding with a theme song.  The theme for Pali 2the first day was on the life of St. Maria Goretti.  All were amused to see that a small girl could have courage to fight against sin.  The second day they emphasized on the life of Bl. Devasahayan Pillay and sang a song on his life composed by teachers.  The next day’s theme was St. Bakhita.  Her sufferings were tremendous, and one could wonder that simple people are great in God’s eyes.  From her childhood to her way on becoming a Colossian Nun was acted out so efficiently giving a striking message at the end through the song.

On the 4th day they animated the prayer service and acted out the life of Bl. Joseph Vaz.  Std. 9th had a very specific and important topic “God through media and communications” Pali 3– they conveyed God’s love through their acting making everyone aware how the latest technology with its advantages and disadvantages still can be so useful to bring God’s love to others and save people’s lives through Evangelization.  The primary students of Std. 1st and 2nd too had their chance of animating the assembly through prayer service and song on the life of Bl. Mother Teresa and finally Std. 3rd and 4th performed the skit on the life of St. Alphonsa Muttatupadattu. Her life too gave out a message of love and sacrifice, patience and charity.   It was amazing to see the enthusiasm and eagerness of the students every day as they performed the skits with suitable costumes that made it more effective.  Definitely!! They learnt lot of values from the lives of saints.
