A Career Guidance Session was organized on 25 February 2026 for the AYG students of Auxilium Baroda by Sr. Shobhana Pereira and Mrs. Shefali D’Souza, the in-charge of AYG. A total of 32 students actively participated in the session. The programme aimed to help students reflect on their future goals, interests, and career choices.

The programme began with a warm welcome and introduction of the resource person, Mr. Samuel John, a Mass Media and Communication expert. The speaker spoke on the importance of identifying one’s the “superpower” and learning how to dream realistically and confidently about the future. He reminded students that every individual is unique and capable of success when they recognize their strengths and work consistently towards their goals.

To promote self-awareness, he asked the students meaningful questions such as:

· What is your dream for the future?

· Which stream do you plan to choose—Science, Commerce, Arts, or Humanities?

· What are your interests and passions?

· How does social media affect your time and focus?

He warned students about the distractions of excessive use of reels, videos, and social media, and encouraged them to use technology in a productive manner. The speaker shared valuable guidelines for personal and academic growth, urging students to stay consistent in their studies, participate in competitions, learn at least one new skill, ask questions freely, and observe themselves to better understand their abilities.

Highlighting an important message, he stated: “Streams do not decide success. Effort and curiosity do.” The students were also encouraged to strengthen their English language and communication skills, as these are essential for success in any career path. He introduced emerging career opportunities in media, creativity, gaming, and technology, including roles such as script writing, sports commentary, and content creation.

To build curiosity, students were advised to read widely using articles, websites, Wikipedia, and YouTube, and to engage in meaningful conversations by asking questions and building real relationships. The Career Guidance Session was interactive, inspiring, and highly informative. It helped students reflect on their interests, understand the importance of effort and curiosity, and gain confidence in planning their future.
