Auxilium Convent School, Vadodara, organized a two-day seminar for the parents of Pre-Primary students on 2nd and 3rd July 2026 to promote awareness of the school's Safeguarding Policy and Digital Safety. The resource persons Ms. Mayuri Gohil and Ms. Nimisha Parekh were welcomed with saplings as a symbol of growth and care.
The programme commenced with an introduction to the school's Safeguarding Policy by Ms. Beena Fernandez, Coordinator of the High School. She explained the objectives of the policy, its implementation within the school, and the role of the Safeguarding Team in ensuring the well-being of every child.
The first session was led by Ms. Nimisha Parekh, a corporate trainer, image consultant, and counsellor from Vadodara. She emphasized the importance of creating a safe environment for children through trust and open communication between parents and their children. She also addressed topics such as child abuse, bullying, and the provisions of the POCSO Act, while responding to parents' questions and concerns.
The second session was conducted by Ms. Mayuri Gohil, Chair of the Masoom Child Safety Initiative at Young Indians and Founder of Pathshala, an educational initiative of the Sakshamneev Charitable Foundation. She spoke on Digital Safety, encouraging parents to guide their children in using technology responsibly, supervise their online activities, and help them recognize and avoid cyber threats.
The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by a parent representative, who expressed appreciation to the resource persons for their valuable insights and thanked the school management for organizing the seminar.
The programme highlighted the importance of cooperation between parents and the school in ensuring the safety and well-being of every child, both in the physical and digital world. We express our sincere gratitude to Mr. Viral Patel of Young Indians (Yi) for coordinating the seminar and arranging the resource persons. His continued support and commitment to promoting child safety and awareness have been invaluable in making this programme informative and beneficial for our parent community.
