DYNAMIC DRAMA WORKSHOP FOR CLUB MEMBERS – AUXILIUM BARODA

Auxilium Convent High School, Baroda, successfully conducted a three-day Drama Workshop from 14th to 16th July 2025 for the members of the Drama Club, with around 250 enthusiastic participants from Grades 1 to 12, across both English and Gujarati mediums.

The sessions were facilitated by Mr. Manoj Rana, a seasoned Scriptwriter, Actor, and Director, whose passion and expertise brought a new level of energy and insight to the students' learning experience. The workshops were designed to introduce students to the foundational elements of theatre and acting through a blend of theory, demonstration, and active participation.

Each session began by helping students explore and express basic human emotions such as joy, sadness, anger, and friendship — vital for character building on stage. Mr. Rana guided students through various facial expressions, gestures, and body movements, helping them understand how physicality and posture influence the delivery of a character. They learned the subtle differences between walking confidently, walking in fear, or moving with authority or nervousness — essential for stage presence.

A significant highlight of the workshop was the voice modulation and pronunciation session, where Mr. Rana taught students how to use vowels and consonants effectively while speaking dialogues. This exercise not only helped improve diction but also built clarity and confidence in speech delivery — a vital skill both on and off the stage.

Throughout the three days, students were encouraged to participate, perform, and reflect, thus gaining practical knowledge of stagecraft, expression, dialogue delivery, and teamwork. The workshop helped in boosting their self-confidence, imagination, emotional awareness, and most importantly, the joy of creative expression.

The Drama Workshop concluded on a high note, with students feeling more connected to the art of dramatics and motivated to apply what they learned in future performances. It was truly an enriching experience that laid a strong foundation for theatrical exploration and personal growth.
