ENVIRONMENT DAY CELEBRATION AT AUXILIUM PRIMARY SCHOOL, CARONA "The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago. The second-best time is today."

Auxilium Primary School, Carona, celebrated Environment Day on 24th June 2026 with great enthusiasm under the theme "Be the Change, Plant a Tree." The celebration aimed to inspire students and parents to care for nature and contribute towards a greener future.

Parents and students came dressed in green, symbolising love for nature, and each family brought a fruit-bearing plant or sapling for planting.

The programme began with a short prayer service in the school hall. Sr. Lavita Sequeira, Headmistress, warmly welcomed everyone and led the gathering in praying for good rainfall, abundant crops, and the well-being of farmers, while seeking God's blessings on the environment.

Addressing the parents, Sr. Lavita encouraged every family to plant the sapling in their home compound or any suitable open space and nurture it with care. She reminded everyone that every tree planted today is a gift to future generations.

The programme concluded with Sr. Lavita expressing her heartfelt gratitude to all the parents for their wholehearted cooperation and support in making the celebration meaningful. The Environment Day celebration inspired everyone to become responsible stewards of nature and to work together for a greener and healthier planet.
