FEAST OF MOTHER MAZZARELLO AND INVESTITURE CEREMONY PUSHPANJALI, DAKOR

On 12th July 2025, the Pushpanjali Community celebrated with joy and devotion the Feast of St. Mary Domenica Mazzarello, the Co-foundress of the Institute. The occasion was made more special by the Investiture Ceremony of the boarding student leaders.

The event began with a short prayer, asking for God's blessings and the intercession of Mother Mazzarello. The Investiture Ceremony, based on the theme "Always Be Cheerful," was led by Sr. Nayana Vankar, the Boarding Incharge. She asked the girls meaningful questions about their responsibilities. Sr. Mariet Lukose, our Manager, then installed the Boarding Head Girl and the four House Captains of Pushpavati, Mother Mazzarello, Don Bosco, and Laura Vicuna.     

  A short cultural program followed, where the boarding girls expressed their affection and admiration for Mother Mazzarello through a lovely skirt, dance and a melodious song. Sr. Elphina Rodrigues then shared a thoughtful and inspiring message, urging the girls to follow the example of Mother Mazzarello in their daily life through simplicity, faith, and kindness. The program ended with a festal meal and sweets served to all the girls.

 The next morning, 13th July, a special Holy Mass was offered in the parish in honour of Mother Mazzarello. Rev. Fr. Anthony Goyal, SDB, Parish Priest and Administrator of the Don Bosco Community, Dakor, presided over the celebration. In his homily, he spoke about Mother Mazzarello as a woman who was always open to God’s grace and did His will in simple ways. Sweets were distributed at the end of the Mass.

The celebration was a beautiful tribute to Mother Mazzarello, whose simple yet powerful life continues to guide and inspire the young girls of Pushpanjali to grow in faith, love, and leadership.
