FEAST OF ST. MARY DOMENICA MAZZARELLO – AUXILIUM BARODA

 Auxilium Baroda community joyfully celebrated the feast of our beloved foundress, St. Mary Mazzarello, together with members of the Mother Mazzarello area on the 25th and 26th of July, in the gracious company of neighboring religious communities.

On 25th July, the celebration began with a solemn Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Fr. Brayan Moras. Sr. Philomena D’Souza delivered an inspiring homily, reflecting deeply on the virtues of Mother Mazzarello—her simplicity, unwavering prayer life, spirit of discernment, strong leadership, and above all, her deep commitment to God's call. She beautifully narrated how, in a divine vision, God entrusted the care of young girls to Mother Mazzarello, who wholeheartedly embraced this mission. In response, she opened a sewing workshop to uplift poor girls by teaching them life skills imbued with Christian values. Her joyful spirit and loving service inspired many young women to walk the same path, leading to the mission’s expansion to nearly 90 countries today.

 As the evening drew to a close, Rev. Sebastiao Mascarenhas, Bishop of Baroda, addressed the gathering with a sincere appreciation for the sisters' efforts in educating and nurturing the young. He concluded with a blessing before the festive meal, where all shared in the joy of communion and celebration.

The two-day celebration concluded on a joyful note, leaving everyone inspired by the exemplary life of Mother Mazzarello. “Do good while you still have time.” – St. Mary Mazzarello               

 Following the Eucharistic Celebration, medals of Mother Mazzarello were distributed among the faithful, and refreshments were served, adding to the festive joy. The celebration continued on 26th July with a special evening gathering attended by religious priests, sisters, and the families of our sisters. The evening opened with a reflective prayer service on the life of St. Mary Mazzarello, beautifully animated by Sr. Priya Tauro. The joyful spirit continued with spot prize games conducted by Sr. Catherine Fernandes and Sr. Pushpa Parmar, bringing energy and laughter to all present.
