On 9 November 2025, the Social Communication Sector Coordinator organized an enriching and highly informative training session facilitated by Fr. Mylin Noronha and Br. Ethan Fortes SDB. The seminar focused on strengthening our skills in digital media, visual communication, and content creation. It was a valuable learning experience for all participants.
The resource persons explained how to prepare an effective PowerPoint presentation, highlighting key elements such as clarity, simplicity, visual consistency, and audience engagement. We learned the importance of using high-quality images, maintaining a logical flow, and applying proper design principles like contrast, alignment, and readability.
A significant part of the session was dedicated to photography skills. We were taught how to take good photographs using correct angles, lighting, framing, and composition. The session helped us understand which photos are suitable for publication, documentation, and social media posts.

We also learned how to prepare Instagram Reels, including how to select appropriate photos and video clips, how to maintain good transitions, and how to create engaging short-form content that effectively communicates our mission and activities. The trainers emphasized the importance of authenticity, creativity, and mission-oriented messaging.
Another highlight of the seminar was the introduction to Canva, a user-friendly design platform. We learned how to create visually appealing posters, social-media graphics, presentations, and digital announcements using Canva’s templates and tools. This section helped us understand how to maintain branding consistency and aesthetic quality across different media.
Overall, the seminar was a valuable and practical learning experience, equipping us with essential skills for effective social communication. We greatly benefited from the clear explanations, hands-on guidance, and practical demonstrations provided by Fr. Mylin Noronha and Br. Ethan Fortes. Their insights will help us communicate more professionally and creatively in our apostolic mission.
