LOCAL YOUTH COORDINATORS MEET – AUXILIUM WADALA

  On July 12, 2025, the local Youth Coordinators of INB, along with lay coordinator Miss Ancelia Patrao, gathered in Wadala for an enriching Youth Coordinators’ Meet. The day began with a prayer moment led by Sr. Lavita Sequeira, followed by a warm and encouraging welcome from our Provincial, Sr. Meenakshi D’Silva. Sr. Kalyani Subramanyam then introduced the plan of the day and welcomed the speakers. The first session by Sr. Gloria Ferrao helped us rediscover the meaning and mission of youth ministry. She urged us to be more creative and collaborative in our work with the young and spoke about using our time, talents, and resources wisely, while also instilling in the youth the 7 goals of the Global Compact.

  In the second session, Fr. Leon Cruz SDB led us into the heart of Salesian Youth Spirituality. He reminded us of what the youth need the most is our loving presence and availability. His session came alive through the voices of SYM members who shared their hopes and highlighted the importance of being approachable, patient, and truly present with young people. The third session by Fr. Sunil Pinto SDB focused on understanding today’s Alpha Generation. He explained their unique way of thinking and interacting with the world and emphasized how building trust and confidence is key to connecting with them. His message was a timely reminder that walking with young people today demands patience, authenticity, and a deep sense of care. The day concluded with a vote of thanks and a sense of renewed energy and commitment in everyone’s heart—to continue serving the young with love, in the spirit of Don Bosco, walking with them and for them, just like Jesus the Good Shepherd.
