PARENTS’ SEMINAR ON ‘THE PARENTING TOOLKIT’ – AUXILIUM BARODA 2025

From 2nd to 7th July 2025, Auxilium Baroda conducted a week-long Parents’ Seminar for both English and Gujarati medium parents, held section-wise. The seminar, themed “The Parenting Toolkit – Strategies for Parents’ Mental Wellness”, was facilitated by Mrs. Hiralba Chauhan, an esteemed alumna of the school, renowned parent coach, and student counsellor with rich experience in guiding families.

The interactive and insightful session aimed at empowering parents to foster a positive family environment, strengthen communication with their children, and confidently face the challenges of modern-day parenting. Mrs. Chauhan highlighted the importance of positive parenting—focusing on understanding children, active listening, and building emotional connections within the family.

The seminar began with a prayer song and a lively icebreaker, followed by a thought-provoking video emphasizing the vital role of parents as a child’s first educators. Through engaging discussions, parents explored crucial topics such as teaching values, nurturing relationships, and creating a supportive home atmosphere.

A key highlight of the session was the exploration of different parenting styles—uninvolved, authoritarian, permissive, and authoritative. Parents were encouraged to reflect on their own styles and were guided on how to adapt more constructive approaches for their children’s emotional and psychological growth.

The workshop had a deep and lasting impact, leaving parents feeling motivated, enlightened, and equipped with practical tools for improving family dynamics. Many shared their intention to restructure their home environment to align with the principles of positive parenting. The takeaways from this session are sure to influence families for years to come, nurturing healthier and happier generations ahead.
