Pottery, Purpose, and Passion: A Unique Collaboration - Sahayini

Four students from Mount Litera School International, located in BKC Bandra Kurla Complex, contacted the Sahayini Social Development Office to express their interest in volunteering for the Education Support Program. As part of their assignment, these students aimed to teach pottery to the children enrolled in the program. The students, Eashan Prashanth, Diya Tanna, Ananya Aravind, and Mrutu Madam, visited Sahayini Wadala from January 27 to 31, 2025, conducting a five-day Skill-Building Pottery Program. Their efforts not only provided valuable learning experiences but also instilled confidence and creativity in the children. The students were assisted by Mrs. Rashmi Matal, Program Coordinator at Sahayini, under the guidance of Sr. Manisha Parmar, Social Development Coordinator (SDC) of Sahayini. The student volunteers were deeply inspired by the ESP initiative, which supports underprivileged children in the Wadala locality. They actively interacted with the children, teachers, coordinators, and the SDC to gain insights into the ESP program.

Additionally, the students of Mount Litera School International took the initiative to raise funds from various sources, successfully collecting ₹47,478. These funds were contributed to support Sahayini's various programs for children. Mrs. Kavita Gangyan, Coordinator of the student program from Mount Litera School, collaborated with Sr. Manisha Parmar to ensure proper procedures for the utilization of the raised funds. She also appreciated Sahayini's efforts in reaching out to the most underprivileged children and expressed interest in future collaborations. As a token of appreciation, Sr. Manisha Parmar, along with the staff and children of Sahayini Wadala, honored the young volunteers by presenting them with handmade thank-you cards created by the children and Sahayini logo t-shirts. We are truly grateful for and deeply appreciate the dedication, social responsibility, and enthusiasm of these young student volunteers in supporting underprivileged children in our society.
