The Province Gratitude Day 2025 @ Caranzalem

This was the theme for the Province Gratitude Day 2025. The journey began with a month of spiritual preparation, comprising four weeks during which we, as communities, read the Word of God, studied the document Spes Non Confundit, reflected on its teachings, and offered our support through words and actions. We reached out, journeying with those in despair, bringing them hope.

The culmination of this month-long preparation took place on 15th and 16th February 2025 in Caranzalem, along with the four communities of the Goa region. The festive celebration began on the evening of the 15th, where the school children of Caranzalem gave a warm and heartfelt welcome to the Provincial and the Councilors, showcasing the culture and traditions of Goa.

We then began the vigil service, carrying slim bags on our shoulders as a symbol of the journey we have undertaken as a province and the journey we will continue together, with our Provincial, Sr. Meena D'Silva. The vigil led us to various places within the compound, where we reflected on our journey and expressed our gratitude. We thanked God Almighty, the Provincial, the Councillors, and particularly the Sisters in charge of the Boarding and Hostel, especially acknowledging them this year for their dedicated service. The vigil concluded with a heartfelt prayer of thanksgiving to our Blessed Mother, Help of Christians, for her constant guidance and accompaniment on our journey, which was then followed by animated recreation and a delicious meal.

The 16th of February began with an outburst of joy, as the sisters again expressed their gratitude to Sr. Meena for her leadership. The Holy Eucharist was celebrated at 9:30 am by Fr. Ian Figredo, followed by a short cultural program that included songs, dances, a skit, and a beautiful Mando, all expressing heartfelt thanks to Sr. Meena.

Thus, the festive celebration of the Province Gratitude Day concluded on a joyful note, as we celebrated our journey together as hope-filled women.
