On 6th April 2026, a one-day seminar on the FMA Safeguarding Policy was thoughtfully organized at Auxilium Baroda, bringing together sisters, selected teachers, and lay collaborators from the Gujarat region. Around 32 participants from diverse settings—including schools, vocational training centres, and boarding communities—came together with a commitment to ensuring the safety and dignity of every individual entrusted to their care.

The session was led by the resource persons, Sr. Gloria Ferrao and Sr. Manisha Parmar, who facilitated the programme with clarity, sensitivity, and practical insight. Beginning at 9:00 a.m. and concluding at 4:00 p.m., the seminar was engaging and participative throughout. The resource persons effectively explained the safeguarding policy through real-life examples, enactments, group discussions, and hands-on activities. These methods helped participants not only understand the policy in theory but also explore how it can be implemented meaningfully in everyday situations.

Special emphasis was placed on identifying, supporting, and guiding vulnerable children and adults, while fostering environments that are safe, respectful, and nurturing. The sessions also highlighted the shared responsibility of all educators and caregivers in upholding the values of protection, vigilance, and compassion.

The interactive nature of the seminar enabled participants to clarify their doubts and reflect on their own roles in safeguarding practices. It proved to be a deeply enriching and eye-opening experience, reinforcing the urgent need to be attentive, proactive, and committed to the well-being of all.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt note of gratitude by the teachers from Baroda, who thanked the resource persons for their dedication and meaningful guidance. The seminar left the participants inspired and better equipped to create safe spaces, ensuring that every individual is cared for with utmost concern, respect, and responsibility.
