Auxilium Convent School, Vadodara, organised a ‘Safeguarding policy and Digital Safety awareness session for the English Medium parents of Std. 1 to IV and V to XII in the school hall on 8 and 9 July 2026. The session was conducted by Ms. Nimisha Parekh, Ms. Sonal Bhavsar and Ms. Mayuri Gohil, who shared valuable insights on creating a safe, secure and supportive environment for children.
The resource persons explained the importance of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, making parents aware of their role in protecting children from abuse. They emphasised the need for parents to communicate openly with their children, stay connected with them, and follow the guiding principles of "Be Alert, Be Supportive, and Be Aware."

Parents were encouraged to educate their children about safe and unsafe touch and to foster an atmosphere where children feel comfortable expressing their feelings and concerns. The speakers also highlighted the negative influence of media and discussed the growing threats of cyberbullying and cyber grooming, urging parents to monitor their children's online activities with care and guidance.
The session stressed the importance of being sensitive to children's emotions and advised parents not to suppress their child's feelings, but instead to listen patiently, understand their concerns and offer emotional support. The speakers also introduced the Masoom Pledge, a commitment to safeguarding children by building awareness, trust and a culture of protection.

The programme was highly interactive, with parents actively participating by sharing their experiences. The session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Dimple Chauhan, a parent, who expressed gratitude to the resource persons and the school management for organising such a meaningful and informative awareness programme. The session proved to be an enriching experience, equipping parents with practical knowledge and reinforcing their vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of their children.
