The Strenna 2026 Session

On 30th June 2026, Our school recently held a special session on Strenna 2026, the theme chosen for the entire Salesian

Family this year. It is titled “Do Whatever He Tells You. Believers, Free to Serve.” The Rector Major, Father Fabio Attard, shared this theme, which comes from the Bible story of the Marriage Feast at Cana. There, Mother Mary told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you,” when the wine ran out.

The session was led by Sister Betty Menezes, Head of AMAR Media, who traveled from Mumbai to speak to us. She explained the Strenna 2026 clearly and simply. This helped us understand how we, too, can listen, make wise choices, and serve others just like the servants did at Cana.

International Year of the Woman Farmer

Sister Betty also shared an important UN observance: 2026 as the International Year of the Woman Farmer. She explained that this year honors the vital work women do in farming and food production worldwide. It aims to help address issues they face, like unfair access to land and resources.

Two Bible Stories

The Tower of Babel: The people of Babylon tried to build a tower tall enough to reach the heavens. However, due to their pride, they lost their unity, their language was confused, and they were scattered apart; therefore, the tower was never completed.

The Rebuilding of Jerusalem: Many years later, after the Babylonians completely destroyed the city, the Jewish people did not give up. Instead, they came together with courage and determination to rebuild the city once again.

Through these stories, Sister Betty taught us how faith, unity, and service can help us overcome even the biggest challenges.

The Wall of Good Habits

Sister Betty led a fun activity where students built a “Wall of Good Habits” using colorful paper. Each student wrote a positive habit they wanted to develop, such as honesty, kindness, or discipline. They attached their papers to the wall, creating a vibrant mosaic of values. She mentioned that she brings this activity to every school she visits, encouraging students to think about their character and form good habits, one colorful paper at a time. We understood that faith means trusting and acting even without knowing the full outcome. Like the servants at Cana, we must obey first and let good things follow.
