THE FEAST OF ST. MARIA TRONCATTI

On 22nd October, Auxilium Nandgad joyfully celebrated the Feast of St. Maria Troncatti in the Immaculate Conception Church, Nandgad. The celebration was graced by the presence of many neighbouring religious priests and sisters, as well as parishioners and people from the substations, who gathered for the Holy Eucharist and the fellowship meal that followed.

Rev. Fr. Santaremend Lopes SDB was the main celebrant of the Eucharistic celebration, and a few Salesians from Hubli were also present. The boarders of Auxilium formed the choir for the day, leading the congregation in prayerful singing.

Fr. Santaremend, in his inspiring homily, reflected beautifully on the life and virtues of St. Maria Troncatti, inviting everyone to walk on the path of holiness and strive to become saints. During the Mass, her quotes were shared, and at the end, a short video on her life was shown. Sr. Natal explained the video to the people in Konkani, helping them understand and appreciate the saint’s missionary spirit. The sisters and hostel girls sang a touching song dedicated to St. Maria Troncatti, adding grace to the celebration.

After the Mass, keychains, prayers, and stickers of St. Maria Troncatti were distributed to all. The guests were then invited to the community house for a fellowship meal, where everyone enjoyed the warm hospitality and joyful atmosphere. The community premises were beautifully decorated with inspiring quotes of the saint, creating a prayerful and festive environment.

In the afternoon, at 2:30 p.m., the children from Thangudhama hostel joined the Auxilium hostel girls for a quiz on the life of St. Maria Troncatti, along with fun games and activities. The children participated enthusiastically and enjoyed the day thoroughly.

The entire celebration was a moment of grace, learning, and inspiration, helping everyone grow in admiration for St. Maria Troncatti’s holiness and missionary zeal.
