VAN MAHOTSAV WEEK 2026 AUXILIUM HIGH SCHOOL- BENAULIM “CARE FOR CREATION”

From 1st to 7th July, as part of the Van Mahotsav celebrations and our commitment to caring for creation, the students of Auxilium High School, Benaulim, enthusiastically participated in a variety of eco-friendly activities across all sections. From sowing flower and vegetable seeds to planting trees and learning about the importance of paddy cultivation, these initiatives inspired students to develop a love for nature, a sense of environmental responsibility, and a commitment to sustainable living from an early age.

PRE PRIMARY SECTION:

GREEN DAY & FLOWER SEEDS SOWING DAY

The Pre-primary section of Auxilium High School, Benaulim, celebrated Green Day and Flower Seeds Sowing Day. The children came dressed in green and brought along colourful, hand-painted pots with flower seeds. The celebration started with a prayer and a short introduction about why it is important to protect nature. Through the seed sowing activity, the children learned about growth, responsibility, and

caring for the environment. Fun green-themed activities like leaf collage, colouring, and identifying green items made the celebration even more enjoyable. The day encouraged the children to care for nature and work towards a greener future.

Activity 2 :

As part of the environmental celebrations, the Eco Club members, accompanied by Tr. Reshma, Tr. Venday, and Sr. Rebecca, visited a paddy field near St. John the Baptist Church in Benaulim. This field trip offered students a unique, hands-on experience with traditional

paddy cultivation. Local farmers and the parish priest guided the students, highlighting the vital role of agriculture, teaching the precise art of transplanting rice seedlings, and emphasizing the need to preserve farming culture.The students experienced the value of handwork, teamwork and sustainable farming . It was a day of learning by doing, connecting with nature and appreciating the hands that feed us. The visit was highly educational, enjoyable and memorable.

PRIMARY SECTION:

SOWING AND NURTURING VEGETABLE SEEDS.

The Primary Section enthusiastically participated in the activity "Sowing and Nurturing Vegetable Seeds." The children learned how to sow vegetable seeds, care for them with love, and understand the importance of patience, responsibility, and protecting nature. Through this hands-on experience, they discovered the joy of watching plants grow while developing a greater appreciation for the environment and healthy living.

SECONDARY SECTION:

Activity 1:

On the occasion of Van Mahotsav in our school, the students and staff members of Auxilium High School, Benaulim participated in the ‘Ek ped Maa ke naam ‘ initiative by planting saplings and nurturing them with care. By planting a tree in the name of their mothers, students pledged to protect nature and contribute to cleaner and greener future.
