VAN MAHOTSAV WEEK CELEBRATION – AUXILIUM BARODA

From 7th to 12th July 2025, Auxilium Baroda (English and Gujarati Medium) celebrated Vana Mahotsav Week with great enthusiasm and participation from students across Nursery to Grade 12. The week-long celebration was a vibrant blend of learning, creativity, and hands-on environmental action, aimed at instilling a deep respect and sense of responsibility towards nature.

Each class took part in engaging eco-activities tailored to their age group. Young learners enjoyed activities like “Interview a Gardener,” “Creating a Plant Corner,” and “Nature Scavenger Hunt,” which connected them directly to their green surroundings. Middle-grade students collaborated to build Mini Herb Gardens using reused containers, planting tulsi, mint, and coriander. They also crafted bird feeders and explored the world of trees through leaf art and a Seed Identification Activity.

Senior students delved into thought-provoking and research-driven projects such as “Trees That Heal,” presentations on the “Forest in Crisis,” and a street play or mime on Deforestation. Creative competitions like Eco Slogan Contests, Eco-Quotes, Nature-Inspired Poetry Writing, and the design of Green Bookmarks allowed students to express their love for nature artistically. Other highlights included a letter-writing activity titled “Letter to the Future,” poster-making on “My Dream Green City,” and “Tree in Indian Culture” research presentations.

Technologically inclined students created Eco Memes and Comic Strips, conducted surveys on “Air Quality vs. Greenery,” and spread awareness through campaigns and talks. The Group Tree Plantation Drive was a fitting finale, as students planted saplings and pledged to care for them. Recycling paper and making Tree Fact Flashcards further added to the spirit of sustainable living.

Through these diverse and meaningful activities, students gained practical knowledge about plant care, biodiversity, and environmental sustainability. They developed an appreciation for the ecological role of trees, the urgency of conservation, and the importance of individual action. Most importantly, they learned that every small effort counts in healing the Earth — whether it’s planting a seed, reusing materials, or raising awareness.

The week left the Auxilium students inspired to be lifelong caretakers of the environment — one leaf, one act, one tree at a time.
