VANMAHOTSAV WEEK AT AUXILIUM SCHOOL, LONAVLA

Vanmahotsav Week at Auxilium School, Lonavla was celebrated from July 1st to 7th, 2025, with a vibrant line-up of eco-conscious activities that fostered environmental awareness and community involvement. The week began with a serene prayer and a symbolic sapling distribution by Principal Sr. Shiny Alphonse to class teachers and monitresses, followed by students pledging their commitment to a greener Earth through the Vasundara Pledge.

  On July 2nd, the school partnered with Tata Power for a major Plantation Drive where 183 students from Std VII planted around 500 saplings. The Tata team also educated the students on the ecological value of the plants, promoting sustainable living ideals. From July 3rd to 6th, students enthusiastically created eco-friendly items such as cloth bags, bird feeders, and best-out-of-waste crafts, showcasing their creativity and care for the environment.

 The celebrations culminated in a Green Festival on July 7th, led by Sr. Rosy Mascarenhas, Sr. Shiny Alphonse, and Sr. Shobha D’Souza. Exhibits included eco-art, healthy green food stalls, and an Anti-Junk Food campaign. Eminent guests like Mrs. Suparna Gaikwad (FONA), Mr. Milind Raval (Tata), and Sarp Mitra Mr. Ranganath Ware delivered inspiring talks on grassroots activism.A spirited Dindi procession brought together students, parents, and staff, ending in the planting of 30 new saplings on and off campus. With the support of the Lonavala Municipal Council, the event gained strong community participation and media coverage, amplifying its message of collective environmental action.Vanmahotsav Week at Auxilium wasn’t just a celebration—it became a movement that cultivated stewardship, creativity, and a shared vision for a sustainable future.
