WALKING IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF ST. MARY MAZZARELLO - BARODA

“My greatest desire is to see you happy in time and in eternity.” – St. Mary Mazzarello. On 13 July 2026, the Auxilium Convent Community, Baroda, joyfully celebrated the Feast of St. Mary Mazzarello together with the sisters and priests from the neighbouring communities, and the parents and relatives of the sisters from the Baroda region. The gathering was a beautiful expression of the Salesian spirit of family, bringing everyone together in prayer, fellowship, and gratitude.

The celebration began with a warm welcome extended by Sr. Philomena D'Souza, the Community Leader. This was followed by a prayer service that invited the participants to reflect on the life and spirituality of St. Mary Mazzarello through inspiring video presentations, glimpses from her life, and selected passages from her letters. The prayerful atmosphere encouraged everyone to rediscover the simplicity, courage, and deep trust in God that marked Mother Mazzarello's life.

“Without confidence and love, there can be no true education.” – St. Mary Mazzarello. An engaging quiz on the life and mission of Mother Mazzarello, conducted by Sr. Quincyann Vieira, added a joyful and interactive dimension to the celebration. The activity offered participants an opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the Co-foundress of the Institute while appreciating her enduring relevance in today's world. The winners were presented with small tokens of appreciation in recognition of their enthusiastic participation.

As a meaningful remembrance of the occasion, every participant received a booklet and a keychain of Blessed Maria Troncatti, whose missionary witness continues to inspire Salesians across the world. These simple gifts served as an invitation to imitate the faith, generosity, and missionary spirit of these remarkable women who dedicated their lives completely to God and to the young.

“Love one another, help one another, and let charity guide all your actions.” – St. Mary Mazzarello. The celebration concluded with a fellowship meal that fostered joyful conversations, renewed friendships, and the warmth of Salesian family spirit. As the participants returned to their respective communities, they carried with them not only pleasant memories of the day but also a deeper appreciation of the life and legacy of St. Mary Mazzarello.
