A key focus of the workshop was overcoming one of the greatest barriers to fluency—the tendency to think in one’s mother tongue and translate sentences word for word into English. The trainers emphasized that effective communication develops when learners begin to think directly in English and allow the language to flow naturally rather than relying on translation. They encouraged teachers to cultivate honesty and self-awareness in assessing their language skills and to embrace mistakes as stepping stones towards confidence and fluency.
The workshop created a lively and collaborative learning atmosphere, inspiring teachers to become more confident communicators and effective facilitators of language learning in their classrooms. The session concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Bindi Patel, who expressed gratitude to the resource persons for their engaging and insightful presentation.
The first session of the English Saathi Programme laid a strong foundation for the year ahead, leaving the participants motivated to embark on a journey of continuous learning, self-improvement, and confident communication in English.

The workshop commenced with a warm welcome to the resource persons. Ms. Angel Christina introduced the speakers, while Ms. Madhu Parmar welcomed them with a sapling as a symbol of gratitude and appreciation.
The session was facilitated by Ms. Rishika Sharma, an English and Communication Trainer, along with her colleague Neha Singh from English Saathi. They introduced the participants to the comprehensive eight-session learning journey that will be conducted over the course of the academic year. The inaugural session focused on the theme “Where Am I With English?”, encouraging teachers to reflect on their current level of English proficiency and identify areas for growth.
Through engaging language games, interactive activities, and thought-provoking videos, the trainers highlighted the difference between textbook English and real-life communicative English. The participants actively engaged in the activities, gaining valuable insights into how language is acquired and used effectively in everyday situations.
