AMAR # 438 Summer Fun at Ahmednagar

The long-awaited day for the children began with 65 children participating in the Ahmednagar Auxi-Summer Club on 13^th April 2018. We began with a prayer moment and lighting of the lamp by Sr. Annette Nellianil, Sr. Rashmika Macwan, Sir Mayur Temak, and a student representative. After the prayer moment, instructions were given regarding the scores and division of groups. This was followed by tele games. The first day ended with some food for the soul. Each day of the summer club comprised of activities like dance, action songs, fireless cooking, T-shirt printing, best out of waste from plastic and paper, tie-and-dye and a good thought for the day given by different sisters.

There was also lots of entertainment for the kids like treasure hunt, picnic to a water park and movies. The camp ended with the thanksgiving programme on 26 April as we raised our hearts in thanksgiving to God for the gift of our Mother General, Mother Yvonne Reungoat. The thanksgiving programme began with a prayer moment wherein Sr. Teresa Plathara, Sr. Annette Nellianil, and a student and parent representative lighted the lamp invoking God’s Blessings on the gathering. The children presented their items and all that they learnt in the club, before their parents who appreciated all that they did. Two groups among four were given prizes for gaining the highest scores in discipline, punctuality and participation in the activities. Each child was gifted a haversack and given snacks towards the end.

Sr. Teresa spoke to the children advising them to share with the others all that they had learnt and make the best use of their time in the summer vacations.
