AMAR # 454 Cancer Awareness Programme for the villages of Ahmednagar

“Life is precious, but it is short” is a known fact to all and yet at times we are very careless when it comes to taking care of it, and so, we, the Social Ministry Department conducted an Awareness Programme for the women and parents of the different villages of Ahmednagar, such as;  UjiniPimplegoan,  Pokardi, Shivacha Mala, Jehur,  and Gajraj Nagar.  It started from 12 June 2018 till 20 June 2018.  The team was from Aarambh Palliative Cancer Care Center.     They gave the sessions on the causes and dangerous habits such as smoking, tobacco, gutkha, and many others. They spoke in depth and made the people understand the harm these evil habits can do to oneself, to the family and the society at large.  They also informed them about free medical checkups and if any patient had reached to 3rd or 4th stage of Cancer and the family cannot afford to treat them, the centre can take care of the patients till the end.  This programme had made the villagers aware of the place where they can easily go and avail of help and support. On 26 June 2018, there would be a free checkup, and also a follow-up programme.

The programme was held in different villages at different times.  A good number of women took part in the same. The resource persons were:  Mr. Kakade, the founder of the center,   Mr.  DarkundePRO,  Mrs.Meenakshi Pawar Councillor, and Mrs. Suman Gaware field worker.  The Village Sarpanch was also invited for the function.
