On 18th December 2014, the Green line club organised an interschool Rally related to the theme ‘Save Mother Earth’. The inauguration began at 9.00a.m. in the presence various dignitaries- the Deputy Educational Officer of Zilla Parishad- Secondary Section, Mr. Bhausaheb Karekar, C.E.O of the Municipal Council Mr. Ganesh Shete, Chairman of the Education Committee, Mr. Aman Pathan and Aminullah Wadiwala , President of Lions Club and our Principal Sr. Susan Moraes.
We began the programme with the lighting of the lamp followed by the felicitation of the Guest of Honour. Then a two minutes silence was observed to honour the students who lost their lives in Peshawar due to the terrorist attack.
The students of Auxilium Convent presented a beautiful prayer dance followed by the presentation of our Green Line project accomplished during the year.
The Deputy Education Officer Mr Bhausaheb Karekar and Mr. Ganesh Shete addressed the students and encouraged them to be assets in Society.
The founder of the Don Bosco Green line, Fr. Savio Silvera and the rest fo the dignitaries watered the saplings to mark this great cause and led the rally to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Vidyalaya. Thousand students of 23 schools participated in the rally. As the students reached Jaichand Chowk snacks and water was served. Songs and dances related to the theme were presented by different schools. The Principals of the schools and P.T.A members of our school were felicitated.
The prize distribution ceremony followed, wherein all the winners of the competitions held were awarded with medals and certificates. It was a remarkable event for Lonavla.
