Celebrations in honour of DON BOSCO

Don Bosco Yuva Kendra,  GOMESALI-Nirmal 

(Sr. Monica Shera) On 28^th January we started the triduum in preparation of the feast of St. John Bosco. First day Fr. Savio D’Monte dealt on “Don Bosco’s  love for the Eucharistic” and His work for the young people. He encouraged the young people to take part in the Eucharistic.He advised the parents to send the youth for all the spiritual activities,  so that they remain good and close to God. After the Mass the youth had their debate on “Today’s youth and consumerism”.  20 youth took part in that, that day the concluding message was given by Sr. Monica Shera.  The second day the theme was ”Don Bosco and His Friendship with Jesus”. Fr. Nilesh Tuscano spoke about the important of friends. Without friends we cannot survive in this world. Don Bosco was a friend of all the young people specially the poor& most needy. He stressed on the role of Mamma Margaret in his life, and how she taught the boys about Jesus. Third day the theme was “To Educate is to Love & build the Future”.

Fr. Linus D’Mello brought out important role of the parent and educators.  The highlight of Feast day was that the youth came in their local costumes; they animated the whole liturgy of the mass. Fr. Dominic D’Abreo was the main celebrant of the Mass. He gave wonderful sermon on “Today’s youth, their problems and their role in the Church”.  Our church was packed with people. Our Parish Priest Fr. Joe D’Mello together with the parishioners thanked the Sisters for all that they do for the young people, children, women, for the services  they render in the Parish community. After mass, cake was distributed to all the people. Youth had their games and get -together after the festal Mass.
