(Sr. Mary Anthony) On 10th March, at 03.00pm 20 SHG groups- 240 women arrived at Auxilium Convent to celebrate their day. After the registration women gathered in the school hall for the function. The older groups dressed uniform for the function. The SHG women brought along with them other neighboring women to inspire them to join the SHG’s .
We began with a prayer song, sung by them all, the yearly report was read out by Mrs kalpna More. The Children’s Parliament Members put up a Gujarati Traditional Dance – Garba to thank the women. A surprise – excited the entire environment for the deserving and outstanding women were acknowledged and appreciated with rewards, The Auxiluim School Children staged a short skit on Nari, depicting the importance of women. Superior Sr. Salome D’Souza spoke well on the different roles of women in the family and in the society. She also said “God has made woman for a very important and big responsibility to nurture the family, society, and at large the world. Women all over the world are striving to build a peaceful, beautiful, loving and caring place for all and often she even sacrifices herself so that others are joyful. So let us respect the Women and stand by the women always” At 5-30 pm tea and snacks were served followed by the distribution of a small token of love to all.
